MetaWorks partnered with these two nostalgic brands to turn the $100,000 Garbage Pail Kids Series 1 inventory into non-fungible digital collectibles. The digital collectible packs were available in five-card packs for $4.99 and 30-card packs for $24.99, and could be held in digital wallets or traded on the platform. The first release sold out in just over 24 hours.

The MetaWorks collectibles platform built to power transactions included features for:

Issuance: Branded digital collectibles created as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on the WAX blockchain

Provenance: Scarcity and ownership history authenticated on the WAX blockchain

Security: Smart contracts and digital wallets to buy, hold, or trade digital collectibles within communities

Monetization: Payment processing integrated for purchases of the digital collectibles

Naga Samineni

MetaKeep co-founder Naga Samineni is a senior software engineer who has worked for Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, and WhatsApp, among others and is the author of key patents for companies like Microsoft and IBM in addition to the patent portfolio of MetaKeep.

Naga was part of the Founding team at WhatsApp Payments and an early engineer at Diem (Facebook Crypto). He launched WhatsApp Pay (0 to 1) in the emerging markets of India, Brazil, and Mexico. He is a subject matter expert on Compliance in Payments, Crypto, Data, Privacy, Security, KYC, AML, CTF, GDPR and led WhatsApp GDPR Compliance Engineering for Data, and Payments. While at Twitter, Mr. Samineni created security keys and WebAuthn mainstream which is a web standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). He built large scale distributed systems, and micro services behind the Social Graph, Core User Data, and Twitter API at ultra-low latency, at the heart of Twitter, building critical path infrastructure that operates at a scale of ~50 million requests per second with sub 5 ms latency. His interests included Data Protection and Privacy by Design at Scale.

George Furla
